We took the obligatory trip to the pumpkin patch a couple weeks ago and took full advantage of the warm Fall temperatures! Fowler Farms was the perfect spot for us and the kids loved running wild in the pumpkin patch. Emerson had no interest in picking a pumpkin...shocker...but Ethan was into telling us which one he liked. We got some cute family pictures, got two pumpkins, and called it a successful day! =)
On to more important things like Halloween! Halloween has never been important to me. Even growing up, I never got into the costumes and candy. I've put forth a little more effort since having kids, but by no means do I ever see us doing matching family costumes! I decided this year Ethan and Emerson were going to be pirates. Why, do they like pirates you ask? Um, no. That's just what I found in their size on the rack at Once Upon a Child! (Again, so much thought going into this haha) Well, Ethan was more than excited to see his costume...especially because it came with a hook! His preschool had a costume parade and he was thrilled when his buddy, Sam, showed up dressed as a pirate too. The school had been teaching them two Halloween songs which they sang during their parade. Adorable!
It's not going to surprise anyone that Emerson was NOT having her costume. As in, we tried to warm her up to the idea two weeks in advance and every single time we tried to put it on her World War III broke out. We knew there was no way she would actually wear come Halloween night. We told her she couldn't go trick-or-treating without a costume (haha) so she decided to wear Ethan's construction vest. Oh, Emerson. We went to around ten houses which was more than enough candy for these two little pirates =)
